02 / Insurance

Out of network.
Not out of options.

I do not participate directly with insurance networks, but therapy clients may be able to use out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement.

  • Thrizer: If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, Thrizer can check benefits and help submit claims on your behalf.
  • Superbills: I can provide an insurance-ready receipt for you to submit directly to your plan.
  • Coaching: Coaching is not psychotherapy and is not reimbursable through health insurance.
  • Your coverage: Reimbursement varies by plan and cannot be guaranteed. Your insurer makes the final coverage determination.

03 / How it works

A simpler path through reimbursement.

01

Check your benefits

Use the Thrizer eligibility link or contact your insurer to ask about outpatient mental-health out-of-network benefits.

02

Choose your claim support

Thrizer can help handle claim submission, or I can provide a superbill if you prefer to submit claims yourself.

03

Know what to expect

Your deductible, coinsurance, allowed amount, and reimbursement timing are set by your insurance plan.

The details

Questions, answered clearly.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance as an in-network clinician. Therapy clients may still be eligible for partial reimbursement when their plans include out-of-network mental-health benefits.

A superbill is a detailed, insurance-ready receipt for therapy services. You can submit it to your insurer when seeking reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

No. Coaching is not psychotherapy, does not involve a mental-health diagnosis, and is not eligible for health-insurance reimbursement or superbills.

Ask whether your plan includes out-of-network outpatient mental-health benefits, whether you have a deductible, what percentage is reimbursed after the deductible, whether telehealth is covered, and whether preauthorization is required.

Insurance benefits are determined by your plan. Eligibility estimates are not a guarantee of payment.
